The Carnival dog show is organised by Yvonne Alder, a professional dog trainer and behaviourist from local business
Dogcology. Taking place on Carnival day, it's all about having fun and celebrating all things canine.
Yvonne is bringing her dog grooming business, Groomology, to the Carnival again. In addition to offering advice on
maintaining a healthy coat, there will be a live demonstration.
Grooming demonstrations run 1-2pm, the dog show starts at 2pm.
Joining Yvonne this year is Tiffany, head of Walkology. Walkology provides specialised dog walking services across Woodley, Sonning, Twyford and surrounding areas.
In partnership with Dogcology Walkology offers a hybrid service combining walking and training; all carefully tailored to the specific needs of you and your dog.
Classes:
1. Cutest Puppy (under 12 months old on 11 June)
2. Gorgeous Golden Oldie (7 or older on 11 th June)
3. Best Rescue Dog
4. Longest lay down & stay*
5. Loveliest Lady
6. Fabulous Fella
7. Musical sit** - a bit like musical bumps for dogs!
8. Judges’ Champion – star dog of the day
* When told by the compere, owners give the command for their dog to lay down & stay. Owners then
walk a given distance from dogs WITHOUT giving further verbal or hand commands. Dogs still in the
lay down position after 5 mins win a prize.
** Dogs & owners mingle; on the command SIT by the head judge, owner gets dog to sit & last one to
sit is eliminated – repeat until the winner is found. Two or more may be eliminated in each round.
Entry details:
Registration is on the day between 12.00 & 1.30 – visit the Dogcology website to download the registration form to complete ahead of the day. Entry to each class is £3 per dog – goody bags and rosettes awarded to top three winners. A donation will be made to the Berkshire MS Therapy Centre from proceeds.
