Woodley Carnival Poster Competition

Woodley Carnival Committee decided on a theme of Knights, Princesses and Dragons for this years carnival, which is being held on the Woodley Memorial Ground on Saturday June 14th.

A competition was organised and all the local schools were invited to take part. Any young person aged 12 years and under who lived in Woodley or attended a Woodley school could enter. An amazing number of entries were received (nearly 400) and four winning entries were chosen by Mr John Hicks, President of the Carnival Committee, and his wife Maureen.

The winning entries will be used for the carnival programme which will be distributed to over 16,000 homes in the area.

Winning entries were by Nina Lees, 8 years old from Beechwood Primary School. Ashleigh Fido, 7 years old from Willowbank Junior School Emilia Clacy, 8 years old from Southlake Primary School. Jessie Halford, 11 years old from Southlake Primary School
