Carnival Queens and Princes Competition
The annual Woodley Community Carnival Queens & Princes competition which is sponsored by a local company FINN Hair is always a popular event.
The entrants will be judged on Friday 2nd May at the theatre in the Oakwood Centre, Woodley. There are 2 age categories, primary/junior school or secondary school age. Entrants must either live or go to school in Woodley at the time of the competition.
On carnival day, Saturday 14th June the lucky winners will have their hair done at the FINN Hair salon in Loddon Bridge Road, Woodley. Then in classic cars supplied by the Hants & Berks Motor Club they will lead the procession around Woodley ending at the Memorial Ground in Headley Road, Woodley where the afternoon Carnival will be taking place.
Rules
- Entrants must be available and willing to attend all the events associated with Carnival including Carnival day on the 8th June.
- Entrants will conduct themselves in an appropriate manner and take and follow instruction from designated adults.
- Entrants must be prepared to be photographed officially. Organisers cannot guarantee photographs will not be posted on social media sites.
- There will be one Junior Prince & Princess plus one girl attendant. There will be one Senior Prince & Queen plus one girl attendant.
- The judge’s decision is final and discussion or correspondence will not be entered into.
- Parents are required to stay in the building during the competition & ensure reasonable supervision for their child at all events attended.
- The organisers will not take responsibility for the children other than for the period of the procession where they will be closely supervised and have a chaperone.
- Children will be expected to have a conversation with the compere on the stage during the competition.
