To celebrate the 50th Woodley Carnival entry will be FREE on the 5th June. A day full of family entertainment, 60's style. As it's our 50th Anniversary we have back-to-back bumper weekends of family fun to celebrate the occasion.
Our first carnival was held in the 60's, so why not dress up yourself, your float, your stall, and join in the themed fun and lets party!

New this year

Firstly, to showcase the diversity of clubs available in Woodley we will have a marquee to house exhibits from various groups including local art clubs, photographic groups, horticultural clubs, women's clubs and schools. Please see our contact page for how you can be involved.
Also this year we have a wonderful free event for our younger children.  Circus Scene will be holding continuous circus workshops offering a wide variety of entertainment to make things go with a swing!  ¿ Clowns and Stilt Walkers  ¿ Circus workshops  ¿ Balloon modellers
Make sure you came and join the fun.

Our Procession

As we are fifty next year we would love to see fifty floats take part in our traditional procession around the town.  We are hoping that this year will attract plenty of interest from groups willing to get involved and have fun.  We are also planning an event to give an insight into how to prepare and plan a Carnival Float Project. The Carnival is a fantastic opportunity to build community spirit whilst having fun and doing something worthwhile.  Remember you can also have a walking entry.
If you would like to enter a float in this year’s procession please go to our contacts page for further information. Register early, as we receive each confirmed entry we will update the list to the right so we know how near we are to our target of 50 floats!

New this year we have The Sheepshow, a fun and educational live show of sheep breeds and shearing. It is seen at numerous outdoor events throughout the year from the North of Scotland to Cornwall and even Northern Ireland and is fun for all ages. It is both entertaining and educational and is set on the back of a 40' stage trailer where the sheep are introduced on to the stage ".It's a bit like Miss World in sheep" says New Zealander Richard Savory who owns and operates the show from their farm in Norfolk.

The sheep ,with names like Nobby the Norfolk horn and Susie the Southdown are clapped onto the stage where they stand on their podiums for the 30 minute show ,there is then a well commentated shearing demonstration showing how you get wool from the sheep's back to a jumper to wear.
"Don't miss The Sheepshow shuffle". Yes, dancing sheep!
